The Glasgow Rangers midfielder is currently on loan at Scunthorpe United but deserves a shot at Ibrox.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha will already be thinking long and hard about which players to bring to Ibrox this summer, but there is one Gers man who could save his new boss a lot of money.
Matt Crooks arrived at Rangers last summer yet was overlooked time and again by former manager Mark Warburton before heading out on loan to Scunthorpe United.
Having agreed a pre-contract agreement six months earlier, Crooks would have been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to excel for his new club, so it would have been both frustrating and confusing that he was cast aside so soon.
Still, Caixinha may well think otherwise and on the evidence of his loan spell Crooks could save Rangers a lot of money in the close season.
Rather than signing a new holding midfielder, Rangers should put their faith in the 23-year-old who has the potential to take the Scottish Premiership by storm.
All he needs is a manager who believes in him and who is willing to take a chance, so Caixinha would be wise to take in a few Scunthorpe games between now and the end of the campaign.
