Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers take on Partick at the weekend, looking to bounce back from defeat.
Pedro Caixinha has revealed to Glasgow Rangers’ official website that he held his most important meeting yet with the Ibrox side’s players earlier today.
Caixinha made a bright start at Rangers, helping them go unbeaten through his first five matches in charge, but things have taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks.
The Portuguese boss has seen the scale of the task at hand, if he wants to catch Celtic, after two Old-Firm derby defeats.
Celtic beat Rangers 2-0 at Hampden Park, before humiliating the Light Blues in front of their own fans at Ibrox last weekend.
And Caixinha said that he has called Rangers’ players into a team meeting, to ensure that they know what he requires of them from now on.
“Today we had, in my opinion, our most important meeting with the players,” Caixinha said. “It regarded the present and the future, what it really means to defend this club and what it means to be here playing at this club.
“One of the things which brought us to the club at the end of a season was to be able to assess the players on a daily basis and up-close. We wanted to assess everything about the squad, the players and Scottish football in order for us to take decisions from this season into next season.
“We know what we want. The board have put their trust in to us to rebuild this massive club and bring it back to where it deserves to be.”
Rangers are expected to make a vast amount of changes during the summer transfer window.
The Glasgow side have been left behind by Celtic this season, and they have also fallen a considerable distance behind Aberdeen.
Caixinha has promised that this gap will be reduced next season, and the Daily Record report that up to 12 signings could be made to try and improve the quality of Rangers’ first-team squad.
