Glasgow Rangers gave some of their next generation a run out in a specially arranged friendly.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has been speaking to Rangers TV following his side’s training match against Greenock Morton, during which some of the Gers’ next generation were given the chance to impress.
You will not find many club managers that have anything but a deep-seated hatred for the international break, but at least Caixinha used the time off to run the rule over some of Rangers’ teenage prospects.
Rangers played three periods of 35 minutes in the specially arranged fixture and in the final section, Caixinha put his faith in teenagers.

“We had Andy (Dallas) at right-back, Kyle (McLelland) who is 15, was one of the centre-halves, Lewis (Mayo), who is 17, was the other one and Scott (Gray), who is also 17, was the left-back,” Caixinha told Rangers TV.
“I liked overall the three groups. They were three different groups with a different formation in each of the periods.”
The Rangers boss has already shown in his brief time at the club that he is not afraid to give youth a chance, with the likes of Myles Beerman and Ross McCrorie benefiting from that mindset.

The Gers also look set to benefit for years to come, and the next generation will be hoping to follow the same path as the talented young defenders.
McCrorie in particular has looked superb since stepping in for the injury Bruno Alves and, having watched more of the academy side this month, Caixinha will know Rangers’ future continues to look bright.
