Pedro Caixinha has insisted that Barrie McKay has been the perfect player for Glasgow Rangers, ever since he took charge.

McKay’s future at Rangers appears to be in serious doubt, after the Daily Mail reported that he rejected a new contract at the Ibrox side.

However, Caixinha has confirmed that he intends to keep the winger in Glasgow for as long as possible.

McKay has already been linked with a number sides, ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been in eye catching form for Rangers this season, with his performances earning a great deal of praise.

McKay’s current deal with Rangers runs out at the end of next season, which puts the Glasgow side under pressure to agree fresh terms with their star attacker or risk losing him on a free.

McKay looks likely to start for Rangers in their next match, which comes against Partick on Saturday.
