Dalcio is one of Glasgow Rangers’ latest signings, arriving at Ibrox on a season-long loan deal.

Pedro Caixinha has told Rangers’ official website that the Gers supporters should expect to see new signing Dalcio predominantly play out on the wing following his arrival at Ibrox, but insisted that the youngster is versatile.

The 21-year-old is one of the Light Blues’ latest signings following the likes of Bruno Alves and Ryan Jack through the door at Ibrox, arriving on a season-long loan deal from Benfica B.

And while Gers supporters would certainly be forgiven for knowing little about Dalcio, Caixinha has offered a little insight into what they can expect from him as well as what role he is most likely to feature in.

“He has the talent and reputation along with the will and desire to grow as a player and he can perform in several positions which is always good as a coach,” he told the club’s official website.

“I bring him here to play him more in the wide areas and more as a winger. If he plays on the left his style of play is different and his relationship with the full-back is also different.”

Now that Rangers fans know that Dalcio will most probably be deployed in wide areas during the upcoming season, they will be hoping that he can provide something like the creativity that they were crying out for this past campaign.

General view of Ibrox - Rangers

The Gers scored significantly fewer goals than the two teams that finished above them in the Scottish Premiership. And while the strikers must shoulder some of the blame for that fact, they were arguably not helped by those behind them in the side, so bolstering their wide options appears to be a very smart move.

And Rangers supporters will be hoping that despite being a relative unknown before his arrival, Dalcio takes little time to really make a name for himself once the campaign begins.
