We are only in the second week of June and already Rangers have secured the signatures of five fresh faces.
Portuguese quartet Bruno Alves, Dalcio, Fabio Cardoso and Daniel Candeias will all join up with compatriot, and manager, Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox while Ryan Jack offers a dash of domestic experience to an increasingly Iberian squad.
And, according to the boss himself, the window could hardly be going any better so far.
“We are delighted with the signings we have as all of them are our first options,” Caixinha said in quotes reported by the Daily Record.
Whether supporters agree, however, is another matter entirely. It’s fair to say Caixinha knows more about Portuguese football than the average Glaswegian punter but, as any supporter will tell you, it’s a risk bringing so many players across to a new league at the same time.
Down in England, Wolves and Nottingham Forest both discovered the hard way that you can’t expect a raft of imported additions to integrate straight away.

Therefore, Rangers fans may be concerned that all but one of their additions have absolutely no experience of football on British shores. All the while, the Glasgow giants appear to be turning their back on a number of astute signings who know the Scottish game like the back of their hand.
According to the Daily Record, Burton Albion are stealing a march on Liam Boyce, the Ross County striker who seized the Golden Boot with 23 goals in the top flight last season. The Northern Ireland international has a £500,000 release clause in his contract.

And The Scotsman claimed that Hibernian goal machine Jason Cummings is poised to join Nottingham Forest for £1 million. Mark Warburton was reported to have attempted to take the 21-year-old to Ibrox when in charge of Rangers but looks likely to finally get his man at the City Ground.
Cummings and Boyce, who scored 42 league goals between them last season, would cost Rangers just £1.5 million combined. The fact that Caixinha appears to have turned his attention elsewhere may leave the fans concerned.
