Pedro Caixinha has hinted on Glasgow Rangers’ official website that both Myles Beerman and David Bates could start against Celtic.

Beerman and Bates have benefitted from Caixinha’s arrival at Ibrox, with both the youngsters being handed a run of first-team opportunities.

And Caixinha has suggested that he could continue to throw the pair in at the deep end, ahead of Sunday’s Old-Firm derby.

“I think if they want to become Rangers players they need to adapt to those scenarios or those circumstances,” Caixinha said.

“So far they have done very well, the team has done very well and helped them also to be on the same wavelength, so if they need to play or if they need to start that game I have no problems with that.

“From today we are going to start working with the team that is going to be present on Sunday.”

Beerman has played 90 minutes in Rangers’ last three matches, and he has largely impressed with his performances.

The youngster has not looked overawed, and there is now great excitement about his future at Ibrox.

Bates has also featured in the same three matches, and helped Rangers picked up three consecutive clean sheets.

Rangers are still unbeaten since Caixinha took charge, but they are the underdogs, going into the Old-Firm derby.

Rangers and Celtic have already met four times this season, and the Light Blues are yet to be victorious.
