Glasgow Rangers forward Kenny Miller missed the clash with St Johnstone, but the veteran is now back training with the Ibrox side.

Miller’s absence from the squad that faced the Saints attracted plenty of attention as it came after Caixinha had seemingly cleared the air with the veteran after he was briefly exiled from the first-team in the wake of the defeat in the first Old Firm meeting of the season (via The Scottish Sun).

Caixinha told BT Sport’s live pre-match coverage of Rangers’ clash with St Johnstone (broadcast on 13th October 2017 from 19:15) that injury was the reason for Miller’s absence however. And he has now confirmed that the 37-year-old is now back training with the problem proving to be a minor one.
“Kenny was a question of precaution,” he told the club’s official website.

“He trained okay before the match and then did a sort of treatment on Friday and now he’s four days further on so he is able to start training today (Tuesday). He pulled something in a finishing drill last week, something on the hamstring.”
Though Miller’s form has arguably been underwhelming this season, it could certainly be argued that having him back available in time for Sunday’s League Cup semi-final will provide the Light Blues with a boost.
He is one of the few strikers that Caixinha has in his squad, so having him available could be important in case either Alfredo Morelos or Eduardo Herrera suffer any last minute injury blows that rule them out of the Hampden Park clash.
And with Miller boasting more experience than most of the squad when it comes to being involved in big games in the latter stages of competitions, his presence will certainly make him an asset, even if Caixinha does not plan to rely on him too much this weekend.
