Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has suggested to The Scottish Sun that Niko Kranjcar will remain at the club next season.
Kranjcar joined Scottish Premiership giants Rangers in the summer of 2016 on a two-year contract, as reported by BBC Sport.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has made only a handful of appearances for the Gers this season, having missed most of the campaign with cruciate knee ligament injury.
According to odds on Betvictor.com, the Croatian midfielder is 2/1 to join Birmingham City in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window.
Rangers manager Caixinha, though, has suggested that 32-year-old will remain at Ibrox for the 2017-18 campaign.

“He has nothing to prove as an individual but he is committed and is looking to perform at his best level for Rangers,” Caixinha told The Scottish Sun about Kranjcar. “He has a lot to give us and he identified Rangers as one of the biggest clubs he has played for.
“I met him at the last stage of his recovery but I can tell you what a great professional he is. He is the first one to arrive at training and normally the last one to go.”
“I like high pace and rhythm but I like to control the rhythm,” added Caixinha. “We cannot play all the time at a high tempo.
“Having players who can perform like that is always important for a squad and Niko is definitely one of those players.
“He knows us, we know him and we both know what we want from one another. He gives us different options and characteristics about how to perform in a football match.”
Kranjcar is a good and creative attacking midfielder, and he could have had a successful season had he not been injured.
The quality of the former Tottenham star is undeniable, and it speaks a lot about the player that he has been able to convince Caixinha of his importance.
