Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers visit Hamilton tonight.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha looks on during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on August 12, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Pedro Caixinha has told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that he isn’t a fan of Hamilton Academical’s artificial surface ahead of tonight’s clash at New Douglas Park, while refusing to be drawn on the Scott Brown debate.

Rangers make the trip to Hamilton this evening as Caixinha’s side look to bounce back from last week’s Old Firm defeat by Celtic at Ibrox.

As ever, it was a fiery game which did not only court headlines for football reasons, with the Portuguese manager squaring up to Celtic captain Scott Brown on the touchline just after the half-time whistle sounded.

Asked on Rangers’ YouTube channel whether he regrets the spat, Caixinha said: “No. My only regret is that I’m sitting here, we play on Friday against Hamilton and we have no questions about that game.”

In addition to low morale, the Gers, without a win in two games, must also adapt to Hamilton’s astroturfed surface tonight, something which Caixinha admits he doesn’t like a great deal.

Then asked if he was a fan of an artificial pitch, he added: “No I’m not that much, not that much. I think it’s some sort of situation to get over the weather conditions, whether it’s too wintery or too sunny or whatever.”

Defeat simply isn’t an option for Rangers tonight.

The Ibrox side are already eight points behind Premiership leaders Celtic and six adrift of Aberdeen so far. It isn’t unlikely for that gap to be 11 and 9 points come Saturday evening, if they lose at Hamilton.
