Pearson and Derby finally parted ways on Saturday.

Talksport pundit Dietmar Hamann is siding with Mel Morris over Nigel Pearson’s departure from Derby County.
Pearson’s exit was finally confirmed during England’s 2-0 win against Malta on Saturday tea time, having been suspended from the previous Tuesday.
Widespread reports alleged that Pearson had been involved in a training ground bust up with Rams chairman Mel Morris, however a statement via the League Managers’ Association stressed he had ‘not been made the subject of any disciplinary action’.
Hamann though, believes that if there was a clash of personalities then Pearson only has himself to blame.
“In modern-day management you have to be accountable. You have to manage the club’s expectations, the chairman’s expectations, and if somebody puts his hard-earned money towards the club and pays your wages, then if he wants answers, if he’s got questions, then you’ve got to answer them,” the former Liverpool midfielder told Talksport.

“Like it or not, you’ve got to do it. This is the way it is these days. There’s not a chief executive like 20 years ago, who you spoke to once a month or every other month, say: ‘how is it going;’ phone call here, phone call there.
“If he’s over from America, if he wants to know what’s going on, why the team is not performing at the minute, you’ve got to give him answers. Whether the owner was satisfied with the answers or not, or whether Pearson wasn’t really happy about the questions – which people suggest was the case – this is modern-day management.
“Maybe he’s got to slightly change because you’ve got these structures in a lot of clubs.”

Derbyshire businessman Morris became chairman in 2015 and had already seen off previous full-time boss Paul Clement before parting company with Pearson.
Derby placed academy chief Darren Wassall in temporary charge for the second half of last season and looks set to do likewise with Pearson’s assistant Chris Powell, according to the Telegraph.
The Rams are unbeaten in both of Powell’s games as caretaker, having won at Cardiff and drawn at Reading to move out of the relegation places.
