Burnley manager Sean Dyche has acted fast in seeking a possible replacement for Andre Gray, who is understood to be an Everton target. According to the Mirror, Burnley have looked straight at Premier League newcomers Huddersfield Town to see if they can secure the services of 27-year-old striker Nahki Wells.
Wells was a significant player for Huddersfield Town in the Championship last season, with a total of 10 goals from 46 appearances as the club achieved promotion to the Premier League. The forward has not yet signed a new contract with the Huddersfield, and Burnley have been forced to act quickly with interest for £10 million rated Gray said to be mounting. Gray himself had been instrumental in helping Burnley stay in the Premier League last season, the paper adds.
Speaking to the Daily Examiner after winning promotion with Huddersfield, Wells said: “Of course I would like to score more goals, but I genuinely believe my performances this season have been really good…Next season I will do better.”

Wells has been at the Terries since January 2014, when he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, which was a record fee for Huddersfield Town at the time.
