QPR are the joint lowest scorers in the Championship, a statistic which doesn’t bode well against the promotion chasing Magpies. Jonjo Shelvey’s return has spearheaded a return to form, in the league at least.

A routine win should be the order of the day as Newcastle United entertain Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night. It’s becoming an intense battle between Newcastle and Brighton at the top of the Championship, and the Magpies can’t drop points in these kind of games.

Newcastle need to keep winning in the league and they will want to put their disappointing showing in the FA Cup behind them. This one should be a relatively comfortable home victory.

Newcastle absolutely smashed QPR in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, but it would be a surprise if the victory was as comprehensive this time round. Rafa and his team should still secure the points at St James’s but it is worth noting that Holloway has steadied the ship after a rocky start, while the Magpies have very much lost their air of invincibility.
