HITC takes a look at Harry Kane’s season so far in pictures.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane wins the 2015/16 Barclays Golden Boot Award, scoring 25 goals.
At the end of the 2015/16 season Tottenham Hotspur fans regarded star striker Harry Kane, the Premier League’s top scorer with 25 goals, as their most influential player.
From a youth player, stuck in the Tottenham loan-cycle and finding himself at clubs such as MK Dons and Leicester, Kane’s rise to England’s No.9 made for an inspiring journey. Through grit, determination, and being in the right place at the right time, Kane forced his way into Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
So, let’s take a look Harry’s season so far in pictures:
Tottenham started the season with two very tricky fixtures. First, an away trip to a rejuvenated Everton side, now managed by former Saints boss, Ronald Koeman. In typical Spurs fashion, Kane’s side dominated much of the game, but just couldn’t find their way to a victory, coming away with a 1-1.
Their next game saw a game of a similar fashion, as Spurs took on London-rivals, Crystal Palace. After dominating the game once more, Spurs finally managed to break down a solid Palace defence, with Victor Wanyama scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory, after an impressive flick and assist from Kane.

Next up: Liverpool. Another difficult tie, especially considering the wildly impressive start that Jurgen Klopp’s side had made to the start of the season. A nervous opening saw Tottenham fall 1-0 down, after Erik Lamela conceded a penalty for a foul on Robert Firmino.
Spurs equalised later on in the game thanks to left-back Danny Rose. Not the day Tottenham perhaps wanted, but it had been a difficult test early on for Kane and his side.

Travelling away to Mark Hughes’ impressive Stoke side next, many Spurs fans expected another frustrating day. However, what followed was total football. Spurs put their foot on the gas from the first minute, and Harry Kane lead his side to annihilate the Stoke backline, 0-4, with Kane tapping in a goal at the back post.

A European tie against Monaco followed shortly after, but Spurs once again struggled. Consistency in their performances seemed to be lacking, and Kane’s side saw themselves fall to a disappointing 1-2 defeat to the French giants. Spurs hoped that a trip to strugglers Sunderland might be the boost they needed.

Though Spurs started slowly, the side grew into the game, with Kane scoring from close range to secure the only goal in a 1-0 victory.

But then, disaster struck. After scoring the winner, the White Hart Lane faithful were forced to watch their young striker stretchered off with an injury that would see him out of action for a number of weeks. Not the sight Spurs fans wanted to see.

Without the England forward, Spurs lost not only a massive goal-scoring threat, but a player that would stretch back fours, drag centre-halfs away to make space for other attacking players, such as Dele Alli.

So Tottenham struggled, and Spurs fans began to see the Premier League’s other impressive outfits, such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, kick on up the league. With the North-London Derby fast approaching, Spurs needed a lift. And so, Kane returned.

With Kane back in the side, Tottenham all of a sudden began to look like the Pochettino side from last season. His hard-work was rewarded with the equalising penalty goal against Arsenal.

Considering Kane has only made 6 appearances so far this season, his return of 3 goals so far (one goal every other game) is impressive.
