Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang unveiled his new hairstyle in Arsenal’s dismal defeat by Liverpool last season – and Peter Crouch has mocked the player on Twitter.
The Gunners captain looked a different player as he led his team-mates out of the tunnel prior to being smashed 3-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Aubameyang debuted his braided hair in what might be a tribute to musicians Sean Paul and Travis Scott, whom the Arsenal hitman tagged on Instagram after originally showing off the new look last month.
And with a thick handband and braids falling either side of it, Crouch has joked on Twitter that the 31-year-old striker was ‘paying homage’ to former Emirates Stadium player Gervinho.
Here’s what the legendary striker said on Twitter:
Gervinho is memorable if only for being so unmemorable at Arsenal.
And not only did Aubameyang look like the Ivorian winger on Saturday, he played a little like him too.
It was a dreadful performance from the former Borussia Dortmund marksman, a display which seemed to sum up his season.
Last term, you could bet your house on Aubameyang turning up for Mikel Arteta, but making the same bet would make a lot of Arsenal fans homeless this time around.
He only has 14 goals in 32 games across all competitions which, for his standards, is a poor return.
