Everton are reportedly set to sign Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.
Everton are set to complete their first signing of the January transfer window, with BBC Sport reporting that a £27million deal has been struck for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.
The Toffees failed to really replace Romelu Lukaku over the summer following his blockbuster move to Manchester United, and that has been apparent in recent weeks.
With just one goal scored in the last four Premier League games, manager Sam Allardyce tightening up the defence but struggling to get a strong attack going.
Now, Tosun – who has hit 14 goals in all competitions this season – is set to complete a move to Goodison Park, but Everton fans aren’t quite content with that just yet.
Fans have been taking to Twitter in recent days to suggest that Allardyce should also be looking to bring in Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi, who appears to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian international, 24, has started jut two Premier League games this season as he continues to struggle for playing time under Antonio Conte, and the Italian told The Telegraph earlier this week that Batshuayi can leave if he wants to.
That has sparked a reaction from Everton fans, who believe that Batshuayi should be signed instead of Tosun, or even as well as the Turkish international, believing more than one striker is needed this month.
Some feel that Batshuayi should be Everton’s number one target this month, and called on the Toffees to take full advantage of Conte’s comments by launching a move during the January transfer window – but Allardyce may well be content with just signing Tosun.
