Celtic couldn’t hold onto their lead as they drew 1-1 with Rangers at Parkhead this afternoon.

The Bhoys had lost the two previous Old Firm derbies earlier this season without scoring, and were looking to turn in an improved showing here.

They did take the lead in the first half as Mohamed Elyounoussi headed in from close range as Odsonne Edouard fired in a superb cross.

Celtic couldn’t claim all three points though as Alfredo Morelos finally ended his drought against the Bhoys by bagging the equaliser.

Neither side could find a winner in the second half, meaning the penultimate Old Firm derby of the season ended in a draw.

A number of Celtic players showed promising signs today after a pretty disappointing season, and Elyounoussi was one of them.

Celtic fans took to Twitter to suggest that the Bhoys need to pay the money to sign Elyounoussi permanently this summer, believing the club’s next manager should be able to get a lot out of him.

Others called Elyounoussi as a ‘class player’, believing he was Celtic’s stand out player as he gears up to return to Southampton this summer.
