Liverpool have one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Alisson, and there is no need for the Premier League champions to find a new player for that position.

The Brazil International goalkeeper is at the top of his game at the age of 28, and there are no suggestions anywhere that he is going to leave anytime soon.

This is why speculation that Liverpool are interested in Ugurcan Cakir comes as a surprise.

According to Asist Analiz, Liverpool are among the clubs who will scout the 24-year-old Trabzonspor goalkeeper during Turkey’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Norway today.

Perhaps the defending Premier League champions are looking for a back-up goalkeeper. Adrian is out of contract at the end of the season (although there is an option of another year), and Caoimhin Kelleher, 22, has played only a handful of games.

Cakir is one of the best goalkeepers in Turkey and is a key figure at Trabzonspor as well for his national team.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will make an offer for the goalkeeper or if his club are willing to sell him.

Following the report in Asist Analiz, some Trabzonspor fans on Twitter have been raving about Cakir and naming the transfer fee that the Reds would have to pay, as shown below.
