Gazzaniga remains Spurs’ third-choice goalkeeper under Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga has told the club’s official website that he is hoping he will be given the chance to shine in Spurs’ first-team this season.
The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Southampton last summer but only managed one appearance for the club, coming in the form of a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace – in which he made one of the saves of the north Londoners’ season.
However, he remains third-choice goalkeeper at the club following Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to offer back-up stopper and veteran Michel Vorm a new contract, one that sees him remain with Spurs until next summer.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the former Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper said that he is happy to remain patient but is hopeful that he will be given a chance to impress between the sticks during 2018-19.
“I try to take my chances and try to show what I can do,” Gazzaniga said. “I just do my job, be myself, stay focused and stay patient because you never know when your chance will come.”

Gazzaniga could get a chance to don the Spurs jersey competitively, with Pochettino’s side qualifying for the Champions League once again – as well ass looking to win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Spurs will be expected to challenge at the top of the Premier League again as well as progressing into the knockout rounds of the Champions League, with captain Hugo Lloris the undisputed number one stopper.
