Spurs knocked Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Tottenham Hotspur got their revenge on Arsenal after losing 4-2 in the Premier League to Unai Emery’s side earlier in the month, with a 2-0 Carabao Cup win on Wednesday night to book their place in the semi-finals.
Goals from Son Heung-min and an exquisite effort from Dele Alli saw Spurs qualify for the last four, where they will face west London rivals Chelsea while Manchester City go up against Burton Albion over two legs.
But it was between the sticks where history was made on Wednesday night, as Paulo Gazzaniga was given the nod to start for Spurs ahead of club captain Hugo Lloris.
The Argentine goalkeeper made some excellent stops throughout the match, denying Henrikh Mkhitaryan one-on-one, while tipping Aaron Ramsey’s effort onto the post with an unbelievable save.
In keeping a clean sheet, 26-year-old Gazzaniga broke a 20-year-old record that has stood since 1998. He is the first Tottenham goalkeeper in 20 years to keep a clean sheet away at north London rivals Arsenal.
Norwegian goalkeeper Epsen Baardsen was the last Spurs goalkeeper to do it, with Spurs drawing 0-0 against Arsenal in November 1998 at Highbury, in a side that included Sol Campbell, Darren Anderton and Stefan Iversen.

Gazzaniga has been in fine form when given the chance this season, making himself the club’s number two and even earning an Argentina cap after conceding just five goals in his six appearances this season.
Lloris is expected to return to his spot in goal against Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park.
