The Rangers defender worked with the Manchester United legend for a short time at Oldham.

Edmundson played under 11-time Premier League winner Scholes for a short time at Oldham Athletic last season, with the former England international eventually leaving the club in controversial circumstances.
The 21-year-old apparently established a positive relationship with his former manager though, telling media this week that he got a message from Scholes after completing his move to the Gers.
As quoted by The Evening Times, Edmundson said: “I spoke to Paul when he left the club and then when I left and he was really pleased for me to sign for Rangers. He is a top guy, really good to work with, and I can’t speak highly enough of him.
“It would have been really good to work with him a bit longer. But a few things went on at Oldham, which I can’t comment on.
“He was buzzing for me to get the move and he sent me a nice text. It was really nice to hear from him.”
The chance to work under a Manchester United legend and a Liverpool one within the space of a few months must be fairly rare in football.
Edmundson has taken the confidence of having that relationship with Scholes to Rangers, already establishing himself as a defender who can compete with established players at Ibrox for starting positions.

He’s played the club’s last two European fixtures, performing well, and has a chance to get plenty of action in the weeks and months ahead.
Competition is fierce. Right now Connor Goldson and Filip Helander are the most senior and accomplished players in the position, with Nikola Katic also pushing for appearances.
Still young though, Edmundson has plenty of time to make his name at Ibrox.
