Can Tottenham Hotspur keep Mauricio Pochettino in the long term?

Paul Scholes has told BBC Radio Five Live that Mauricio Pochettino has taken Tottenham Hotspur as far as he can, claiming he’ll never win a Premier League title in North London.
Speculation is rife that Manchester United want the Tottenham boss as a long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho, who was dismissed earlier this week.
The Times have previously reported that the Argentine would indeed be keen on taking up the job at Old Trafford, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on a short-term basis now.
The 47-year-old is midway through his fifth season as Spurs manager and is yet to win a trophy for the Lilywhites, but Pochettino has still taken the club – who reached the second phase of the Champions League again this season – to new heights in spite of his lack of silverware.
Man United legend Scholes told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Pochettino is the man.
“I think if he wants the job, then I think it’s his…can he ever really win the league at Tottenham? I’m not sure he can.”
Tottenham fans might not like it, but Scholes may have a point. Is he really going to deliver a league title to Spurs? It seems really unlikely and despite making immense progress in recent years, winning the league would be taking Tottenham to yet another level and it might be a bridge too far.
Pochettino’s side are nine points behind top-of-the-table Liverpool with a game in hand.
