Paul Scholes told Premier League Productions that Liverpool trio Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino are panicking and ‘really struggling’.

Liverpool recorded a goalless draw against top-of-the-table Manchester United, with both forward lines not having many clear-cut chances to secure all three points.

For Jurgen Klopp, whilst all the talk is about his defence, his attack have only managed to score one league goal since putting seven past Crystal Palace in December.

And Scholes touched upon what he is seeing from Liverpool’s forward line following that point against their rivals yesterday.

“You look at the Liverpool side of things,” said Scholes. “A lot has been made of their centre-halves missing but I think their forwards are really struggling.

“They just don’t seem to be clicking. They are snatching at things. A little bit panicky.

“They are going to have to improve. They are going to have to pick up their quality and very quickly if they are going to have a say in this league title.”

Liverpool have set the bar very high, so even a minor blip will be seen as a much bigger problem.

It needs to be remembered that Liverpool are still the highest goalscorers in the league, so the magic is still there.

The Premier League is that little difficult and indifferent this season, so that is also playing its part as more than five teams will think they are in the title race.
