Paul Robinson has told BBC Live’s coverage that he thinks Fraser Forster showed “fantastic anticipation” to stop star Kai Havertz in the second half as Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 – as Spurs secured a second win in a row in North London.

Spurs were the favourites on Sunday in what was the only Premier League game of the day. Chelsea’s poor form of late saw a Spurs side dominate for much of the match without having much of the ball. Oliver Skipp opened the scoring.

Even without Antonio Conte, Spurs never looked like losing. Especially, when Harry Kane flicked home a corner. A really solid win for Spurs, building on a 2-0 win over West Ham last week. They cemented their place in the top-four places.

Newcastle do have two games in hand and should they win those matches, they would overtake Spurs. But, the Toon have dipped in terms of form and Spurs are in a good position to retain a top-four slot. Even with a number of injuries.

Rodrigo Bentancur could be out until November. Captain Hugo Lloris is set to be missing for the next few weeks and Forster continued in his place on Sunday. Despite just 35 touches on Sunday (WhoScored) – Robinson praised Forster.

“That’s fantastic anticipation from Forster. He reads it so well and gets out bravely at the feet Havertz,” Robinson said, as per BBC Live’s coverage of Tottenham’s win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, with Forster once again impressing.

Robinson: Forster shows fantastic anticipation as Tottenham beat Chelsea

Forster has proved to be a wonderful signing for Spurs, on a free. Coming into the side, he has shown that he can be relied upon – keeping four clean sheets and only conceding nine goals in eight. Four of those goals came at Leicester.

A blip, as described by Harry Kane. Spurs still have plenty to play for and after two successive wins in the League, they look good to finish in fourth behind Arsenal and both Manchester clubs. Spurs have a huge few games on the horizon.

The FA Cup is their only chance of silverware, realistically, this season. They take on Sheffield United on Wednesday, for a place in the quarter-finals. Then, a decent run of Premier League games and next week, a second leg against Milan.
