Paul Robinson has claimed on Twitter that he thinks Arsenal may fail to win the Premier League for another 20 years – if they fail to win the League title this term. The Gunners have slipped into second place, but have a game in hand.
Arsenal’s form has dipped. Amid Gary Neville regularly claiming that he still believes Manchester City will win the Premier League title, Arsenal have won just two of their last six league games – failing to win any of the last three.
A draw against Newcastle was followed by wins over Tottenham and Manchester United. However, Sean Dyche saw his Everton side win 1-0 in his first game – before Arsenal were harshly denied by a VAR decision against Brentford.
On Wednesday night, Manchester City dealt a huge blow to Arsenal – winning 3-1 at The Emirates. Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland on the score sheet. Arsenal have slipped to second, level on points with City.
Arsenal do have a game in hand. But the pressure is on, more than ever. The Gunners are known for slipping in the second half of the season, and it looks as though that trend could occur again. Robinson has made a big claim.
Robinson thinks Arsenal may fail to win League for another 20 years
A bizarre claim. Arsenal are improving rapidly and even contesting for the title despite being in the Europa League. Many felt that Arsenal qualifying only for the Europa League last season, would hamper their chances of top four.
But this season, they have gone one better than the top four and if they win their game in hand, they go top of the table by three points. So, Arsenal have every chance of winning the title. But Manchester City are getting better.
