The standstill in world football over two months ago hurt every single club in the Premier League. The financial constraints were evident which is sure to have an effect on teams’ plans for this summer’s transfer window.
Jose Mourinho, like every other manager, would have wished for the season to have finished by now, so that he can prepare properly for his first full season in charge at Tottenham.
That wasn’t the case but it can be said that Tottenham slightly benefitted from the break in the Premier League.
Spurs were without Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko, who were all expected to miss most of the remainder of the season when their injury news was announced.
Thankfully though, all three of them should be fit and available when football returns in just over a week’s time which is fantastic news for every Spurs fan out there.
However, the provisional fixture list shows that teams have very little time between games to recover, which will increase the likelihood of injuries.
Robinson has claimed that Mourinho, like other managers, will have to be very careful with his team selection, especially in the case of Harry Kane.
He told Sky Sports: “You have to worry whether Harry Kane can play two or three games a week, whether he can play 90 minutes on a Saturday and then have to wait again for the following Saturday to play another 90 minutes.”

“It will be all about how Jose (Mourinho) manages the situation because you can’t expect a player whose been out after that length of time to be able to come back and play three games a week with all the demands Premier League football puts on you.”
Kane hasn’t played a game since New Year’s Day
It will be extremely difficult for any player to play three times a week. Kane, who hasn’t played a competitive game since his return from injury, will likely find it harder but Mourinho has little choice upfront.
Kane is Tottenham’s only natural striker and not having him in the starting eleven considerably weakens the side.
That might force Mourinho to use him a lot more than he would have liked, which could backfire very quickly and cost Tottenham their Champions League hopes.
