Paul Robinson said on Sky Sports Football (4:18pm, August 4, 2019) that Leeds United did their homework on Ben White before signing the defender on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Earlier this summer, Championship outfit Leeds secured the services of the 21-year-old central defender on loan from Premier League outfit Brighton.

The youngster, who can also operate as a right-back, has had previous loan spells at Newport County and Peterborough United.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Robinson has claimed that he knows that the Whites did their homework on White before bringing him to Elland Road on loan despite his lack of experience in the Championship.

Robinson said about White on Sky Sports Football (4:18pm, August 4, 2019): “He has done his time in apprenticeship, he has been on loan in League One and League Two. He is a player I know for a fact Leeds have watched for a while.”

The youngster played well, looked strong at the back and read the game well, and former Leeds striker Whelan was impressed.

Whelan said about White on BBC Radio Leeds after the match: “I think for a debut, he has not really put a foot wrong. Very, very strong.”
