Tottenham are hoping to keep hold of Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen’s desire to leave the club for Real Madrid has so far fallen on deaf ears.
Spanish newspaper AS last week reported that Eriksen was beginning to rethink his future and is considering extending his stay at Tottenham.
This is because Real Madrid are planning to focus what remains of their transfer budget on Paul Pogba.
Pogba has now come out and expressed his desire for a new challenge.
The £89 million midfielder was quoted by The Mail: “For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.
“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.
“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

This puts Manchester United under pressure to cash in, and Real cannot afford to buy both.
Pogba’s comments put him front and centre of Real’s transfer plans for the rest of this summer, leaving Eriksen as an after thought.
This also helps Spurs over their pursuit of Tanguy Ndombele too.
French outlet Footmercato reported Real Madrid were considering moving for Ndombele if they could not land Pogba.
While Pogba remains on the market, their pursuit of Ndombele will take a backseat, leaving Tottenham in a strong position to land the Lyon star.
