The West Ham United ace was heavily linked with an exit last month.

Paul Merson spoke exclusively to the Daily Star, and suggested that the Marko Arnautovic situation at West Ham is nothing short of a farce.
The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a move away to China during the last couple of weeks of the January transfer window, but he ended up staying with the Hammers, signing a new and improved contract in the process.
Before hankering for a move away from West Ham, Arnautovic had forged somewhat of a cult status amongst the London Stadium faithful, but he has now surely ruined any chance he had of being considered as a club legend.
And Merson believes that the situation is a ‘farce”.
The Arsenal legend spoke exclusively to the Daily Star, and suggested that he would not be surprised at all to see the Austrian leave West Ham in the summer:

“Marko Arnautovic signing a contract extension at West Ham is a farce – and I think there’s a massive problem there with or without him. They got desperate and threw more money at him to stay. They are only delaying the inevitable because this will all come back up again in the summer and I won’t be shocked if he goes.”
Arnautovic is currently out injured, and the Hammers really do need him back and firing on all cylinders as soon as possible.
As Merson righty suggested, however, this season could easily be the former Stoke City man’s last one in the famous claret and blue.
