Paul Merson has delivered his verdict on the debate raging over Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli and Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.
Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-0 at the weekend to reignite the debate over who is the dominant force in North London.
The Gunners looked the best they have been for some time in that clash while Spurs looked some way off their usual high standards set of the past three seasons under Mauricio Pochettino.
Since the game debate has raged on social media, radio phone-ins and amongst pundits about the status of the clubs in relation to one another.
And individual players have also been in the spotlight too.

Spurs star Dele Alli was overshadowed his Arsenal counterpart Mesut Ozil sparking a row over who is the better player.
Many feel Ozil is too inconsistent while others suggest that is also creeping into Alli’s game this season.
“You see it the other day, Ozil is head and shoulders above all of the Tottenham players,” Merson told The Debate.
“On his day he’s better than all of them.
“If Dele Alli had his best ever game and Ozil plays his best ever game you take Ozil all day long, you would.”
Merson’s emphatic declaration is sure to divide opinion particularly given radio phone-ins are often filled by Gunners fans complaining about the performances of Ozil on a regular basis.
