Paul Merson isn’t shy to express his views, no matter how right or wrong he is, and he has had his fair share to say about Tottenham Hotspur over the years.
Just go back to the summer, when Harry Kane left, it was all doom and gloom at the club because one of their best-ever players departed just days before the new season started.
At the time, Paul Merson proceeded to question where Spurs would finish and suggested they would end up in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Well, given how the team have performed under Ange Postecoglou this season, the former Arsenal man quickly changed his mind before you could put your Christmas lights up.
But once again, the outspoken Sky pundit has probably come out with comments that might annoy the fans from Hotspur Way.

Tottenham against the Premier League’s top three
The final run-in is upon us, after the international break, everything will explode with the title race, Champions League football and the relegation battle all on the line – Erik ten Hag has had his say on Spurs.
Tottenham themselves are pushing to get to fourth, but they have some big games to deal with if they want to get over that line, including playing the Premier League’s top three.
Whilst some expect Postecoglou’s side to cause some damage.
Paul Merson feels Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City ‘won’t be fearful’ of the Champions League-chasing side and ‘they would want to play Tottenham’, as he told Soccer Special on Sky Sports (12/03/24 at 7:10 pm).
There will be Spurs fans screaming and reminding Merson about how they beat Liverpool in the reverse fixture and drew at both Arsenal and Man City.
Plus, don’t forget Pep Guardiola’s quite poor record at Spurs!
It’s fair to say that those teams chasing the title simply won’t look forward to playing Tottenham because they know they will, more than likely concede, and have to deal with wave and wave of attacks.
Spurs are unbeaten against those three this season so far and don’t be surprised if they claim a big scalp and Paul Merson is then ruing his comments about the club again.
