Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was forthright with his comments after his side’s latest defeat.

Pochettino said that Tottenham’s squad had never been as unsettled as it currently is, after his side were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United at the weekend.
Spurs looked abject during the contest, as they fell to a shock defeat.
And Merson thinks that Pochettino’s words after the game are concerning for Tottenham supporters.
He said: “Pochettino’s comments that he has never seen so much unrest at a football club the other day were concerning and eye-opening.
“He doesn’t normally speak so strongly, he always looks after the club’s interests and gets on with the job at hand. But his comment suggests things are unravelling at the moment.”
Tottenham still have some doubts over whether key players will be at Hotspur Way beyond the end of the European transfer window.

The futures of Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld all look complicated, with their contracts at Spurs currently running down.
Pochettino left both Eriksen and Vertonghen out of Tottenham’s starting line-up against Newcastle, and that decision backfired, as his side put in a woeful display.
Tottenham missed the creativity of Eriksen and the defensive solidity of Vertonghen as they fell to defeat.
Spurs’s next match comes against Arsenal, and another defeat would pile the pressure on to Pochettino’s men.
