Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will face Chelsea at Anfield this weekend.

Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea looks on during the Premier League match between Chelsea FC and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on April 08, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Former Arsenal attacking midfielder Paul Merson has suggested in The Daily Star that Liverpool will have to be wary of Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi this weekend.

Liverpool will take on Chelsea at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

While the Reds are challenging for the league title this season, the Blues are aiming to finish in the top four of the standings.

Merson believes that Liverpool could struggle to cope with Hudson-Odoi, as the Merseyside outfit have not faced the 18-year-old England international forward before.

The former Arsenal star has also suggested that the teenager is a bigger threat to Liverpool than Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “Sarri has never won anything and could be sacked in the summer. He’ll want that trophy on his CV.

“But even if he doesn’t rest Hazard at Anfield, Hudson-Odoi is a bigger threat to Liverpool. They will know all about Hazard and if he plays they will make sure he doesn’t get the ball.

“But they haven’t faced Hudson-Odoi before. They won’t know him as well and they will try and play him one v one. Good luck with that.

“He’s at his most dangerous when defenders are isolated against him and he can run at them. That’s where the problem will be for Liverpool. Their front three don’t come back to help.”
