Arsenal head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United tomorrow night.

Ex footballer Paul Merson enjoying day two of the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse on March 11, 2015 in Cheltenham, England.

Paul Merson urged Arsenal boss Unai Emery to play both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front against Manchester United tomorrow night, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports.

The Gunners were in scintillating form against Tottenham on Sunday, but it was Emery’s half-time substitutions that really changed the game.

Arsenal began the North London Derby playing a 3-4-2-1 formation. They then switched to 3-4-1-2 at half-time.

The Gunners finished the game in a 4-3-1-2 formation as they ran out worthy 4-2 winners against Spurs.

Whether Emery will start the game at Old Trafford with two up front, though, remains to be seen.

Merson believes Arsenal can really get at United if they play two strikers, explaining how they could cause the hosts all sorts of problems, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports:

“I hope Unai Emery plays the side that finished the game against Tottenham, playing two up front with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette because that will cause United all sorts of problems.”

Arsenal seem to be a totally different animal this season, and tomorrow night’s clash with Manchester United will be a great barometer of how far they have come.

The Gunners can actually jump up to third in the table with a win tomorrow, should Chelsea fail to beat Wolves, and not many people would have predicted that at the start of the season.
