The Tottenham Hotspur Arena talisman is in prolific form for Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs – but Merson feels he’s struggling.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is struggling at present and “looks a bit lost”, even though he’s still scoring goals for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as written in the Daily Star.
Spurs are currently going through a bad patch at present, with their Premier League form far from title-challenging, their League Cup campaign having ended at the hands of lower-league Colchester United, and reeling from a 7-2 Champions League hammering by Bayern Munich at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena.
Despite numerous Spurs players currently looking far from their best and performing below par, Kane certainly does not appear to be in that category, given he has five goals and an assist in seven Premier League appearances, plus two from two Champions League games (Transfermarkt).
Merson acknowledges that his claim might “sound strange” given his prolific form but he feels that the Tottenham talisman is not bringing as much to the game now as he was previously.

“Harry Kane looks like he’s struggling though,” Merson wrote in the Daily Star. “That might sound strange as he’s still scoring goals. But he doesn’t look right.
“Usually even when he doesn’t score, he brings a lot else to the game. He can fail to score in a game but still be man of the match. Not many strikers can do that. But right now, he looks a bit lost. He’s often been a big provider for his teammates but I don’t see that much from him right now.”
Up next for Tottenham is their Premier League meeting with Brighton and Hove Albion on the south coast on Saturday.
