Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be interested in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Mahrez of late, with Mauricio Pochettino believes to be a fan of the Leicester winger.
However, Merson feels that Zaha would be a much better fit for Spurs, as he offers them qualities that they currently lack.

“I’m not sure, I think I’ve got a few of them,” Merson said, when asked if Tottenham should sign Mahrez.
“I’d go for Zaha if I was Tottenham. They need more pace. Zaha ticks more boxes for Tottenham.”
Whether Spurs would be able to do a deal for Zaha in January remains to be seen.
Palace are in the thick of a relegation battle, and losing their best player would send out a negative message to the squad.

Tottenham do appear to need an injection of quality though, with their form in the Premier League disappointing.
Spurs have been left behind in the race for the top four, and are now having to make up for lost ground.
Tottenham are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table, after failing to win any of their last four domestic matches.
