Paul Merson offered a withering response to Tottenham signing Davinson Sanchez.
Paul Merson has responded to Tottenham Hotspur’s imminent signing of Davinson Sanchez.
Speaking to SkySports The Debate tonight (17/8 10pm), Merson named Tottenham as the club in his opinion who has had the worst transfer window so far.
Told by presenter Simon Thomas that Tottenham are set to complete a deal for Davinson Sanchez [SkySports], Merson offered a short response:
He said simply: “Never heard of him.”

Merson did not change his opinion, warning that Spurs risk falling out of the top four places this season.
He added: “I think they could get left behind. It’s not that far between first and fifth.”

Sanchez, 21, signed for Ajax last season from Colombian club Nacional and has already represented his country.
He helped Ajax reach the Europa League final last season and is regarded as one of the top young defenders in Europe.
Sanchez will be Tottenham’s first summer signing after a slow window so far, but as they are set to break their record transfer fee in order to sign him for £42 million, hopefully for the fans he will be worth waiting for.
