The former Arsenal star has also said that he does not think that Mykhailo Mudryk should have started against Bournemouth in the Premier League this past weekend.
Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Bournemouth away from home.

Merson told Sky Sports: “I didn’t get Mykhailo Mudryk starting against Bournemouth.
“I didn’t get Ben Chilwell not starting – for me you’ve got to go for him in my opinion.”
