Paul Merson was impressed with Tottenham Hotspur’s performance against Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend.

Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has praised Tottenham Hotspur in The Daily Star.
Merson was impressed with Tottenham’s performance against Manchester City at home in the Premier League last weekend.
Spurs registered a 2-0 victory over City at White Hart Lane and deservedly picked up all three points.
Former Arsenal attacker Merson was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The former England international, though, has shared his only worry about Spurs. Merson has questioned whether Tottenham would be able to maintain their current tempo throughout the season.
“Tottenham gave everyone the blueprint of how to beat Manchester City last weekend,” Merson wrote in The Daily Star. “I fancied Spurs to get something and they thoroughly deserved it. They were outstanding.”
“The only worry for Spurs is whether they can do what they’re doing now next May,” added Merson. “Mauricio Pochettino’s teams always fade at the end of the season.
“Okay it didn’t happen until right at the end of last season. But it’s so physically demanding trying to play a pressing game all season. That will be the test for them.”

Tottenham’s high-pressing game is brilliant to watch and is the main reason behind their success over the past two seasons.
The North London outfit are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from seven matches.
Spurs are just a point behind leaders City and are very much in the race for the league title this season.
Tottenham will take on West Bromwich Albion away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League after the international break.
