West Ham are struggling for form.

West Ham’s loss against Burnley was predictable at the weekend and summed up the club’s recent drop off in form.

Coming days after a home loss to Newcastle, the positivity at the club which existed after the first few weeks of the season has gone.

Pundit Paul Merson believes a tough upcoming fixture list leaves the Hammers facing a relegation battle.

West Ham are currently down in 16th place in the table, having previously reached as high as fifth after a September win at home to Manchester United.

Merson told Sky Sports’ The Debate (11/11 10pm): “Look at their fixtures, they are going to be in the bottom three in five weeks time.

“For me I think they are struggling. They are going to be in a relegation battle from Christmas onwards.”

West Ham host Tottenham in a huge game at the London Stadium after the international break.

Spurs are in poor form themselves, sitting in 14th place.

After this West Ham face Chelsea (a), Wolves (a) and then Arsenal (h).

All three of those clubs could be distracted by the impact of European football affecting their squads, but they will be tough games for the Hammers.

On current form Merson is right, its tough to see West Ham winning more than one of them at the most, and no wins will leave them in a tough spot.
