West Ham United have recently signed Patrice Evra on a free transfer.

West Ham have recently recruited French left-back Evra on a free transfer on a contract that runs until the end of June 2018.
Former Arsenal star Merson, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that the 36-year-old is a good signing for the Hammers.

Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “Patrice Evra is a good signing for West Ham. He will bring a winning mentality to the club that they desperately need.
“They’ve got players there who have never won anything really and even though he’s 36 he will command respect.”

Experience
Evra is past his prime, but there is no doubt that the Frenchman will bring a vast amount of experience and winning mentality to the West Ham dressing room.
The United legend knows the Premier League inside out, and he can have a big influence in key matches and in games against the big teams.
True, the former Juventus and Marseille left-back may not be able to play for 90 minutes in each and every game consistently well, but there is enough quality in him to make a valuable impact at West Ham, as the London club aim to avoid the drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
