Paul Merson suggested that he could not think of an Everton player who would get into Tottenham Hotspur’s strongest lineup.

There are currently 15 points separating Mauricio Pochettino’s side in third and Everton in 11th after 17 games of the season. Spurs’ sensational start has been somewhat overshadowed by the two pace-setters in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Everton have won just one of their last six games. And that is perhaps why Merson admitted that he cannot agree with Ratcliffe regarding the comments he made about the two squads.

“What Everton player would get into the Tottenham team? How many? None. I can’t think of an Everton player off the top of my head that would get into the Tottenham team,” he told Soccer Saturday.
In fairness, Everton do have several quality players in their squad, and there are likely to be many Spurs fans who would be able to name one or two that they would happily see Daniel Levy target.

Andre Gomes is enjoying a fantastic start to life at Goodison Park, while youngsters such as Richarlison, Jordan Pickford and Ademola Lookman appear to have very bright futures ahead of them.
And Silva will be urging his squad to prove that they are a lot better than their current position in the table suggests when they meet Spurs on Sunday.
