Sunderland won against Bournemouth in the Premier League at the weekend.
Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson said on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, November 5, 2016) that Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is unbelievable.
Merson made the comments about the 22-year-old following Sunderland’s victory over Bournemouth at the weekend.
The youngster started the Premier League game at the Vitality Stadium and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Pickford played well against the Cherries and helped the Black Cats register a 2-1 victory.
Former Arsenal attacker Merson was impressed with the performance of the English youngster and praised his performance.
Merson also praised Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe for his display against the Cherries.

“Honestly, if you watched him today and you were coming over from somewhere you didn’t know who this lad was, you would take him tomorrow morning,” said Merson about 28-year-old Anichebe. “Honestly, you would.
“You won’t see a better performance from a centre-forward that’s paid to hold the ball up, bring people into the game, and make themselves a nuisance through the match – no one will play as well that this season.”
Pickford is a brilliant goalkeeper, and he is showing this season that he is hugely talented and promising.
The 22-year-old is still learning and developing, and he will make mistakes from time to time.
What is important is that Sunderland manager David Moyes continues to play Pickford.
The Black Cats are at the foot of the league table at the moment with just five points from 11 matches.
