Pundit believes Everton were better than last week’s scoreline suggests.

Manchester United won 4-0, netting three goals in the final 10 minutes in a late flurry.
This became Everton’s fourth loss in a row, and Merson believes the performance was not as bad as the scoreline suggests.

Merson said: “I thought Everton were bang unlucky for 20 minutes at the start of the second half at Old Trafford.
“In the end United produced a flurry of late goals, like they did against Swansea, and the score looked much better than the game suggested.”
Everton rallied in midweek in their Carabao Cup match against Sunderland, winning 3-0 against the Championship side.

Merson is backing them to win this weekend in the Premier League against Bournemouth at Goodison Park.
Predicting a 2-0 victory, Merson said: “I think they beat Bournemouth.
“This fixture is the second of four consecutive home games and they need to get on a roll in front of their fans to shake off this poor start to the season.”
Everton’s poor start to the season has left them in a lowly 18th place.
They have suffered defeats against Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United, and hope this ‘easier’ fixture against one of the two teams below them in the table can get them back on track.
