Tottenham striker Harry Kane’s performance is criticised.

Forget the controversy of his headbutt on Cesar Azpilicueta, Tottenham striker Harry Kane had a stinker of a performance on Wednesday night.

Kane was kept in check by Chelsea’s defence as Tottenham fell to a 2-0 defeat.

Spurs failed to have a shot on target and Kane’s lack of impact was notable.

Pundit Paul Merson has criticised Kane’s performance and questioned whether he is fully fit.

Merson told Sky Sports: “If you’d have just come over to visit England and gone to watch Chelsea vs Tottenham, and you went to see Harry Kane because he’s supposed to be one of the best in the world, you wouldn’t believe it.

“I’ve seen people have bad games, but he didn’t do anything in the entire game. Nothing. I was shocked. I don’t know if he’s still carrying his injury or what.”

Merson is predicting Tottenham’s match with Arsenal this weekend at Wembley will finish as a draw.

The match against Chelsea was Tottenham’s second defeat in a row.

Kane has played in both losses, but did score in the loss to Burnley.

He has a strong record in North London derby games against Arsenal, and must raise his performance levels from midweek to get back on track.

He is not the only Spurs player who needs to play better.
