Paul Merson has said that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is playing well as Mohamed Salah does for Liverpool when in form.

The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit has noted in SportsKeeda that at Saka’s age, Salah was nowhere the player he was/is at Liverpool.

Merson believes that people should not forget that Arsenal and England international winger Saka is only 21 now.

The pundit has also backed Arsenal to win against Leeds United in the Premier League.

Paul Merson on Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah

Merson wrote: “Bukayo Saka is playing as well as an in-form Mohamed Salah right now, but he’ll need time to reach the numbers that Salah used to put up.

“Mohamed Salah was the best player in the world at a point in time. You’ve got to remember that we’re talking about a young kid – Salah was at Chelsea when he was Saka’s age.

“Leeds are not going to hold back and play ten men behind the ball. They’re going to have a go and I expect them to score a goal, but I don’t think they’ll keep it tight at the back.

“Arsenal are at the top of the league because everyone has been excellent. When one player doesn’t have a good game, another player steps up. They’ve been brilliant as a team and should be able to win this game.

“Prediction: Arsenal 4-1 Leeds United.”

HITC Verdict: Potentially world class

In our view, Bukayo Saka is one of the best young players on the planet and has the potential to become world class in the coming years.

The £70,000-a-week (The Mirror) Arsenal forward plays consistently well week in and week out.

It is rare for a player of his age to be so good in each and every game.

Saka has scored 12 goals and given 10 assists in 28 Premier League matches for Arsenal so far this season.

Last season, the young England international winger scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in the league for Mikel Arteta’s side.

One of the main reasons why Arsenal are leading the Premier League table is the form of Saka.
