Wolverhampton Wanderers have earned promotion to the Premier League, with Nuno’s side dominating the Championship this term.

England's Paul Merson crosses the ball during the Star Sixes football match between England and Spain at the O2 Arena in London on July 13, 2017.

Paul Merson has told the Debate, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 19th April, that he believes Wolverhampton Wanderers will finish in mid-table next season.

Wolves’ promotion to the Premier League was confirmed last weekend, with Nuno’s side being the dominant force in the Championship this season.

Wolves have big ambitions to make an immediate impact upon their return to the top tier.

And Merson is hoping that Nuno has the foresight to make changes at Molineux, as he sees great potential in the Midlands side.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the Wolves manager looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Millwall and Wolverhampton at The Den on December 26, 2017 in London, England.

Merson said: “I can’t wait to see Wolves. They’ve got footballers who are miles too good for the Championship. They’ll need to buy. I think they’ll be middle. They play good football and have great movement.

“I hope the manager doesn’t bring them up and stay loyal. He’s got to bring some more players in.

“I think if he stays loyal I’ve seen enough of them to see they’ll get picked off.”

The likes of Willy Boly, Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota appear as if they could catch the eye immediately in the Premier League for Wolves.

Nuno will want to add quality to ensure that his squad can continue to kick on after a highly impressive season though.

Wolves are set to win the Championship title, with just one more point needed to mathematically confirm their triumph.

Wolves are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium.
