Merson believes Spurs will beat Sunderland comfortably.

After a midweek defeat to Monaco, Paul Merson has told SkySports he expects Tottenham Hotspur to get back to winning ways.
Spurs lost 2-1 at Wembley and are back at White Hart Lane for a Premier League home game against Sunderland.
Sunderland have been struggling so far this season and have only just one win so far, losing 3-0 to Everton on Monday night.

Merson expects a similar scoreline, explaining that he expects Spurs to beat Sunderland 3-0 this weekend, shutting out former fan favourite Jermain Defoe.
He said: “I expect them to get back on track at home, and for it to be very comfortable.
“Sunderland are struggling. There wasn’t much in the game before half-time against Everton, and Jermain Defoe missed a great chance. If that starts happening, it’s going to be a long season.
“Conceding three goals in 11 minutes is a worry too, because they just collapsed after the first went in.”

Putting aside Tottenham’s midweek loss, they have had a good start to the season and are so far unbeaten in the league.
Last weekend they demolished Stoke City 4-0, and against a Sunderland side potentially lacking confidence, they will have to fancy their chances of getting back on track, and piling more pressure on David Moyes.
It’s hard to argue against Merson’s prediction in this case, and if Sunderland claimed a draw or even a win, it would be seen as a big upset.
