Paul Merson has backed Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur to beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The former double-winner pointed out that Steve Cooper’s side, who are battling relegation from the Premier League, are ‘awful’ away from home, as he told Sportskeeda.

Well, as awful as Forest might be on the road, they couldn’t have found a better time to face the north London club given the mess of Wednesday night.

Tottenham were booted out of the Champions League by AC Milan without failing to score over two legs, as a result, the pressure has well and truly mounted on Antonio Conte in the dugout.

There is already talk that he could be out of the door with, surprise, surprise, Mauricio Pochettino’s name getting a mention.

Despite all of that, Merson is backing those in north London to secure a 3-0 win.

“Nottingham Forest are awful away from home,” said Merson. “Unless they sort out their away form, they are in huge trouble. They need to start getting results on the road.

“Nottingham have earned just three points away from home this season. As a Premier League side, you’ve got to do better than that.

“Tottenham Hotspur fell to Wolves in their latest outing but they’ve got a great opportunity to bounce back and regain their confidence here.”

WILL CONTE MAKE IT UNTIL THE END OF THE WEEK?

The issue facing Conte is that there now seems to be a civil war brewing inside the club, with players and staff unhappy.

Straight after Tottenham suffered their Champions League exit, Richarlison started to fire shots and questioned why he wasn’t starting.

Now, there are claims that some within the club want Mauricio Pochettino back. Either way, if Conte makes it past Forest and these next few weeks, then it will be a surprise given the noise.
