Paul Merson has told SkySports he expects Tottenham Hotspur to beat Crystal Palace this weekend.
Spurs lost last weekend against Manchester United but bounced back with a midweek Champions League win over Real Madrid.
Merson believes Spurs will saunter to victory against a struggling Crystal Palace side.
He said: “I expect Tottenham to carry on with the confidence they have been playing with.
“They have just beaten the European champions, so I will go 3-0 Tottenham.”
Palace were fortunate to avoid defeat against West Ham at the weekend and have managed only one win from 10 matches so far.
This came in a surprise victory against reigning champions Chelsea, and beating Tottenham may be seen as even more of an upset.
Spurs wobbled early in the season at Wembley but appear to have grown used to playing at their temporary home, beating Liverpool and Real Madrid in their last two matches there.
Palace’s confidence is growing under Roy Hodgson but they remain rooted to the bottom of the table and they should find it a lot harder to come from behind against Spurs if they concede than they did against a naive West Ham last weekend.
